Jordan Rodger’s evolving collaborative project of improvisation and experimentation merges with avant-garde film and international guests for MOSSO, creating loop-driven soundscapes shaped by post-rock and contemporary jazz within a cinematic interplay.
A performance shaped by a silent film score, Melt unfolds as a continuous sonic journey led by guitarist and composer Jordan Rodger. Built from a single take improvisation, loops, melodies and textural gestures gradually accumulate, forming a rich electro-acoustic collage. Further layers from Festival artist-collaborators Joshua Hyde (saxophone) and Nat Bartsch (piano) and contributions on bass, drums, trumpet and percussion expand the music into shimmering ambient and post-rock sound worlds. As in earlier Melt collaborations, artists respond to the theme of birdsong, exploring its resonance and emotional pull. The result invites drifting attention or deep listening, evoking landscapes, flight and attentive encounters with the natural world and visual imagery.
