Presented by the Embassy of Greece

His Excellency Mr Stavros Venizelos, Ambassador of Greece, and Ms Larisa Tikaidi warmly welcome you to the Greek Embassy for a spirited breakfast exploring contemporary and avant-garde music. Guided by the Ambassador’s cultural insight and personal passion for such music, this event offers an engaging discussion of key Festival works with the artists and experts who have brought them to Canberra.

Renowned saxophonist Pierre-Stéphane Meugé performs a compelling program, both solo and in collaboration with Australian virtuoso and Professor of Saxophone at the Geneva University of Music Joshua Hyde. The program features a work by the eminent Greek composer Georges Aperghis, a pioneer of interdisciplinary musical dramaturgy, written especially for Meugé, alongside a duo by acclaimed Swiss composer Nadir Vassena and a rarely performed graphic score by Greek composer Anestis Logothetis.

A light breakfast will be served from 8:30am.
